Privacy Policy

This page is the privacy policy for that extension. It describes what the extension does with information from your FieldCap session, and what it does not do.

Who operates it

OpenCap Data Exporter is an independent, unofficial tool published by Bruno Brottes. It is not affiliated with PHX Technology, FieldCap, or Pason Systems. Questions about this policy: open an issue at github.com/freebrew/OpenCap_PHX_Exporter/issues.

Information the extension processes

The extension does not ask you to create an account, and it does not collect your FieldCap password. While you are already logged into FieldCap in the same browser, and only after you choose Fetch, it reads job information you can already see and turns it into CSV files on your computer:

• Job identity and job fields returned by FieldCap for the job id you enter.
• Crew and personnel records, which can include names, roles, phone numbers, and email addresses.
• BHA equipment, inventory, serials, hours, and drilled metres.
• Daily slide and rotate metres.
• Daily ticket cost totals and ticket counts.

It also keeps, on your device only, the CSV text from the last fetch, the folder you picked, and a few extension settings (such as whether a FieldCap dialog is suppressed). Optional network sniffing, if you turn it on, records FieldCap request addresses in extension storage on that same device so an unknown endpoint can be identified. It does not record your password.

How that information is used

The information is used only to build the CSV files you asked for and to show fetch status in the extension popup. The extension does not use it for advertising, credit, or profiling, and it does not sell it.

Where it goes

• FieldCap. Requests go to FieldCap hosts you are logged into (*.phxtech.com, including fieldcap-cdn.phxtech.com), using the browser session you already have. On Edge, those requests run inside the open FieldCap tab. On Chrome, the extension service worker makes them.
• Your computer. CSV files are written to a folder you choose, or to your Downloads folder if that write is blocked. A copy of the latest CSV text stays in the extension’s local storage until you clear it or fetch again.
• Not to the publisher. The extension does not send job, crew, cost, or other FieldCap data to the author, to GitHub, or to any analytics service. There are no ads and no third-party trackers.

Permissions

• Host access to *.phxtech.com — call FieldCap while you are logged in.
• storage — keep the last CSVs and settings on the device.
• downloads — save a CSV when the folder write is blocked.
• activeTab and scripting — read the FieldCap page you have open and, on Edge, run the FieldCap request there.
• webRequest — see FieldCap request addresses on *.phxtech.com when sniffing is on. It is not used on other sites.
• alarms — remind the toolbar icon when a store update is waiting.

Retention and your choices

Data stays until you delete the CSV files, clear the extension’s site data, or remove the extension. Removing the extension deletes its local storage. You can skip any export (including ticket costs and crew) by clearing that checkbox before Fetch.

Sharing you do yourself

If you email a CSV, put it in a workbook, or copy it to a shared drive, that copy is under your control and your employer’s rules. This policy does not cover what you do with the files after they leave the extension.

Children

The extension is a field operations tool. It is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top of this page will change. The current policy is always this page: https://freebrew.github.io/OpenCap_PHX_Exporter/privacy.html.
